Cult Sando : Classic and Modern recipes for the popular Japanese sandwich
Japanese cuisine is up there in my top favourite cuisines list (Korean and Italian also place pretty high), but I love simple meals too, such as the classic sandwich. However, sandwiches can vary greatly in style, and the Japanese definitely know how to make a good one.
If you’re a foodie like me, you’d have probably tried a few different katsu sandos across our Perth cafes (Forklore & Omuya, just to name a couple). This book will open your eyes to many more amazing sandwich flavours you’d probably never even think would make a delicious sandwich! Think dessert… icecream sandos yes, but also fresh fruit, and sweet tamagoyaki (egg)!
If you love a good sandwich, or if you love to eat, or even if you just love to eat with your eyes – this book will please. I could eat every single one of the sandwiches in this book, because the photography does not disappoint! You could even go one further and get yourself some shokupan (Japanese milk bread – so fluffy soft and oishii!) and make one of these sandos yourself. I’d personally love to try the curried lobster or chicken karaage with Namban sauce sandos.
