Hello again, anime aficionados! It’s time for another seasonal Anime Update. And what a selection of titles we’ve got to share with you.
It doesn’t happen very often but, this time around, we have some feature film titles to start off with. Three of them, in fact! And all part of larger franchises. Let me explain …
The Films
The Series
Evangelion: 3.0+1.11 Thrice Upon a Time is the fourth (and final) entry in the “Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition” film series which retells the story of the original, classic, Neon Genesis Evangelion anime television series (1997).
Violet Evergarden ~ the Movie is in fact the second feature film following the original Violet Evergarden animated television series. The first film following that series was Violet Evergarden ~ Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll.
Konosuba! God’s blessing on this wonderful world!. Legend of Crimson : The Movie (yes, that really is the full, official title!) is a feature length adventure that slots in between Season 1 and Season 2 of the main Konosuba series* and has finally made it’s way to DVD. (*Season 3 is currently airing in Japan and online).
Next up, and new to blu-ray, is the first season of the break out hit of late 2022. Funny, quirky, beautifully and dynamically animated, and touching on contemporary themes of isolation and social anxiety. The one and only … Bocchi the rock!
