Needle felting is a technique used to create shapes and designs out of wool or other types of fibrous materials, using a special needle. The needle has tiny barbs that mesh fibres together when repeatedly poked into the wool, causing it to become compact and dense, which can then be shaped into three-dimensional objects such as figurines, animals or landscapes. Needle felting can also be used to add embellishments to pre-made clothing or accessories. It is a popular craft activity for people of all ages and skill levels.

Needle felting is considered an inexpensive craft but does require some special tools, including:
1. Wool Roving: This is the most important item you’ll need because it makes up your projects.

2. Felting Needles: You’ll need a few different types of needles for various projects. Make sure to get some larger needles for the initial shaping and some smaller needles for detailing.

3. Foam Block: A foam block is essential because it’s what you’ll put under your project to protect your work surface and help stabilize it as you needle-felt.

4. Scissors: Any pair of scissors will do, but make sure they’re sharp so you can easily trim your wool as needed.

There are many different items you can make with needle felting – with these just to name a few!
1. Felted animals and sculptures
2. Woollen jewellery and brooches
3. Decorative felted flowers and plants
4. Dollhouse miniatures
5. Clothing accessories like hats and scarves
6. Felted ornaments and decorations for the home
7. Soft toys for children
8. Felted props for cosplay or theatrical performances
9. Woollen rugs and mats
10. Felted art pieces and wall hangings.
